Workout 5: 5-Miler

The Nike+ applet on the right that shows my accumulated distance is really a highlight for me.... OK, so, I feel pretty freaking good for just running 5 miles. It was my first run in the new Nike Air Zoom Elite+, which I picked up today. I had a little issue with knee pain for about half a mile but it went away. I got in 5 miles at 11:01 avg pace and 161 avg HR. 20 seconds faster per mile than Wednesday; basically the same avg HR! Gotta love that. Also, I hit the lap button on my watch at mile 4 but i guess it didn't register (see below). I also have a few miles (3&4) with crazy long times - again, it's the street crossings. I was really trying to pay attention to everyone out there. The NHL All Star Weekend is taking place here this weekend - there's a lot more crazys out there than usual.

I'm pretty happy with this one overall. The weather was nice, I felt good, and came up with a time that looks like I'm making progress. Can't really ask for more than that...

Well, maybe I can ask for the same situation for my 8-miler tomorrow?
